Attorney Blaire McClanahan received her BS Degree from NC State in Business Administration. She then received her JD from Elon Law School in 2014 and became barred in NC in 2015.

She is a partner at the Law Offices of Cheryl David in Greensboro, NC where she focuses on Trusts, Elder Law, Nursing Home Protection, Wills, Asset Preservation, Estate Planning, Trust Administration, Probate Administration, and Adult Long-Term Care Medicaid.

She has also co-authored the book, “How to Protect Your Family’s Assets from Devastating Nursing Home Costs”, 2018 and 2020, and she regularly speaks at numerous events, public and private, to educate NC citizens on Elder Law and Estate Planning. Blaire regularly hosts a webinar on the topics of Estate Planning and Asset Protection throughout the year.

Blaire’s legal memberships and work include – North Carolina Bar Association Member, Greensboro Bar Association Member, Greensboro Estate Council Member, Treasurer of the Piedmont Triad Women Attorneys from 2016-2017, and she also recently served as a Treasurer for a cemetery board in Danville, VA for 4 years. From 2019-2021 Blaire taught an Elder Law Course at the University of North Carolina- Greensboro (UNCG) to Graduate students, one of her proudest accomplishments.

She is a present member of Legal Shield Member, the National Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys, and the prestigious American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys. In the past, Blaire has been a Preceptor at Elon Law School, where she mentored 2-3 law students a year interested in this field of law.

Along with this, Blaire has been named a Rising Star by North Carolina Super Lawyers for the past 3 years and was awarded certification as a Certified Medicaid Planner™ by the CMP™ governing board.

Outside of work, Blaire is very involved in the Greensboro Community. She is currently a social chair at J Triad, a young professional’s group, Guilford Merchant’s Association Young Professional’s Chair 2018, Guilford Merchant’s Association Gurus, Vice President, and President. She also served on a local school board for the Bnai Shalom Day School 2016-2017, and she presently serves on the Aetz Chayim Cemetery Board, in Danville, Va.

As an aside, Blaire is passionate about rescuing dogs, and she loves to help place them. She also loves to travel. She and her husband George were recently selected for a young professional’s educational event where they will represent North Carolina as they travel to Poland and Israel in the next few weeks.
