How You Can Help Hurricane Sandy Victims

For anyone interested in providing support to the victims of hurricane Sandy, ABC news.com has posted a list of all the reputable charitable organizations that are providing support to victims. Even if you cannot provide direct support to someone impacted by the storm, you can support those organizations that give food, emergency shelter, as well as other vital materials to the relief efforts.

New York Blood Center: Blood supplies across the New York and New Jersey area are low because of the many cancel blood drives caused by the hurricane. you can donate blood or plasma to the New York Blood Center if you live in the New York or New Jersey area, but you can also send monetary donations to www.nybloodcenter.org. or by calling 800-933-2566.

The American Red Cross:  The Red Cross is also taking donations either directly at www.redcross.org, or by donating $10 immediately by texting “Redcross” to 90999. You can also call 800–Red-Cross.

The Salvation Army: www.salvationarmyusa.org is accepting donations at any hour, and local outlets may accept donations of food, water, or other needed goods. Contact your local Salvation Army office if you are interested in donating material support.
